Matthew Mazzoni is a pianist with a sense of adventure, which has manifested itself not only through solo and collaborative performances across the country, but branching beyond to include appearances as conductor, organist, and theater musician.  Born in Pennsylvania, Matthew studied piano at the University of Michigan and Indiana University before teaching at Murray State University.  A very active collaborator, he performed notably with flutists Gary Schocker and Tadeu Coehlo, and he has a flute/piano recording available on NAXOS with Kyle Dzapo.  Matthew works as the Director of Music Ministry at Central Presbyterian Church (St. Louis, MO), where he oversees a robust program of choirs, ensembles, and concert events, and additionally he is the Director of the Chamber Series for St. Louis Cathedral Concerts.  However, his favorite musical partner is also his wife, Jennifer Mazzoni, and the two of them make up the Mazzoni Duo, recent prizewinners of the Artist Presentation Society.  They balance their performing with a love for serving others and family life (3 children+dog!), and he looks forward to new musical adventures through this artist collective.
