Independent Performing Artist

Timoti Fregni considers himself a curious musician. He has had the privilege to perform under leading conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Lorin Maazel, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, among others from which he tried to learn as much as possible. He had the privilege to play with wonderful colleagues without conductor as well, in particular in the form of the project Spira mirabilis, of which he is one of the founding members. Simultaneously, he was drawn to historical performance practice and, inspired by the clarinetist Lorenzo Coppola, he devoted himself to early music. These days he works in modern chamber orchestras (Kammerakademie Potsdam, Geneva Camerata, Kammerorchester Basel, among others) and baroque ensembles (Café Zimmermann, Continuum among others) and he’s nowhere near to being bored of playing music.
